Overview of the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and process-oriented Assistant Manager – Finance to drive the development of finance processes, SOPs, and internal controls. This role will be central in leading automation initiatives and process improvement projects, while also supporting the Financial Controller in reporting, compliance, and operational execution. The ideal candidate has a passion for building systems that scale, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking.
What you will be expected to perform:
Process Development, Controls & Projects
- Lead the design and implementation of SOPs, internal controls, and scalable finance processes across all key functions.
- Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement and automation projects across reconciliations, reporting, and financial operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Tech, Operations, Procurement) to integrate finance requirements into new systems or tools.
- Support change management initiatives to improve compliance and drive a culture of discipline and accuracy.
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
- Perform detailed variance analysis of actuals against prior periods, identifying key drivers and trends.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensure accuracy of the trial balance.
- Support intercompany accounting and consolidation efforts.
Compliance & Cash Flow
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, internal controls, and IFRS in all finance processes and reporting.
- Assist in cash flow planning and management, including monitoring cash positions and supporting short-term forecasting.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure the finance function meets internal and external compliance standards.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and resolving audit queries.
- Maintain documentation and testing of internal controls in line with audit and operational standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s is a plus). ACCA/ICMA qualified or CA finalist preferred.
You should be:
Experience
- 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally in a high-growth consumer or e-commerce business.
- Proven experience in process development, systems implementation, or finance transformation projects.
- Familiarity with SAP Business One or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong understanding of internal controls, IFRS, and finance operations.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel skills; experience with automation or reporting tools is a plus.
- Clear and concise communicator with the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
