Overview of the role:

We are looking for an E-commerce Intern to support our Shopify project, primarily focusing on data entry, product management, and data management. This role is ideal for someone with prior Shopify experience, strong Excel skills, and a keen eye for detail. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in managing e-commerce data, ensuring product listings are accurate, and learning key aspects of e-commerce operations.

This role is perfect for someone who is:
Detail-oriented and meticulous with data
Proficient in Excel (formulas, data sorting, bulk uploads, etc.)
Familiar with Shopify’s backend and product management
A fast learner who can adapt to new tools and workflows

Expectations from the role:

Data Entry & Product Management:

  • Upload and manage product listings, descriptions, images, and pricing on Shopify.
  • Ensure all data is accurately entered, categorized, and formatted correctly.
  • Conduct bulk product uploads using CSV files.

Data Management & Organization:

  • Maintain and update Excel sheets with product information, inventory levels, and pricing changes.
  • Assist in refining product categorization and filtering.
  • Conduct quality checks to identify and fix any errors in listings.

E-commerce Operations & Learning:

  • Gain hands-on experience in Shopify’s backend, learning how to optimize product management.
  • Assist with organizing product data for marketing, SEO, and customer experience improvements.
  • Work closely with the e-commerce team to ensure smooth operations.

Qualification and Experience:

Experience with Shopify (adding/editing products, understanding of collections, etc.)
Proficiency in Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, bulk data uploads)
Strong attention to detail (ability to spot errors in product listings and data)
Fast learner with good analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Dimensions and Supplementary Information:

  • Reporting to: E-commerce Team Lead

  • Work Environment: On-site

  • Internship Duration: 1 month

  • Working Hours: 10 AM – 7 PM, Monday to Friday 

  • Learning & Development: Hands-on exposure to Shopify, Excel data management, e-commerce product management, and digital operations

  • Key Tools Used:

    • Shopify – Backend product management, bulk uploads
    • Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets – Data entry, cleaning, organization
    • Google Drive / Shared Docs – Documentation and collaboration
