Overview of the role:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance team and ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves overseeing financial management, reporting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning to support business growth. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in enhancing financial processes, implementing robust controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Expectations from the role:

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee financial statement preparation, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Provide financial reports and insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures for governance.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:

  • Ensure effective cash flow management and liquidity planning.
  • Optimize working capital by managing inventory, payables, and receivables.
  • Strengthen relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Oversee payment processing, reconciliations, and financial settlements.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Implement strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee financial audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect company assets.

Process Improvement & Systems Management:

  • Optimize financial operations through process automation and SOPs.
  • Oversee the integration and efficiency of SAP Business One and other financial tools.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives for enhanced financial visibility and accuracy.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Organize and oversee team workflows to ensure efficiency and adherence to deadlines.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally to align financial strategies with business objectives.

Qualification and Experience:

Education: CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualification (mandatory).

Experience: 10 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

Industry Background: Experience in retail, e-commerce, or FMCG preferred.

Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in SAP Business One and financial reporting tools.

Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax compliance, and audits.

Banking & Treasury: Experience in managing banking relationships and treasury operations.
