Overview of the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Associate / Senior Associate with 5–9 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of deep technical investment skills and strong interpersonal capabilities, capable of leading deal execution and supporting portfolio companies. This individual will play a critical role in financial modeling, due diligence, and relationship management across the startup ecosystem.
Expectations from the role:
1. Financial Modeling & Valuation
- Deep expertise in building complex financial models (DCF, LBO, comparables).
- Ability to evaluate cap tables, liquidation preferences, and exit scenarios.
- Understanding of unit economics, cohort analysis, and growth projections.
2. Data Analysis & Quantitative Skills
- Proficient in Excel (advanced functions, macros, scenario modeling).
- Comfortable with SQL and basic data querying for due diligence.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint) is a plus.
3. Market & Competitive Analysis
- Able to size markets (TAM/SAM/SOM) and analyze industry trends.
- Perform SWOT analysis, Porter’s Five Forces, and similar frameworks.
- Understanding of business models (SaaS, marketplaces, deep tech, etc.).
4. Technical Acumen
- Ability to evaluate product/tech stack at a high level (APIs, architecture).
- Basic coding knowledge (Python, R) is a plus.
5. Deal Diligence, Execution and Portfolio Management
- Experience leading or supporting due diligence (financial, legal, tech).
- Familiarity with deal terms and structuring (SAFEs, convertible notes, equity).
- Understanding of term sheets, board structures, and VC legal docs.
- Portfolio management reporting and monitoring of investment return projections.
- Experience providing fundraising support and M&A transactions to support liquidity events.
6. CRM & Pipeline Management Tools
- Experience managing CRMs and pipeline reporting.
- Experience with tools like Affinity, Hubspot, Salesforce, Notion, or Airtable for deal tracking.
- Competent in managing deal flow and documenting investment rationale

- CFA Level 1 & 2
- Python
- CA preferred (others added in technical skills)

- Can push a deal through IC with strong rationale and internal alignment.

- Sensitive to founder psychology, team dynamics, and cultural nuance.
