Overview of the role:

As a Senior Product Manager (Senior PM), you will be responsible for driving the success of a product by taking ownership of its vision, execution, and delivery. The role requires leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration across teams to ensure high-quality output. You'll be working with cross-functional stakeholders to define goals, solve problems, and ensure alignment with broader organizational objectives. A strong understanding of technical concepts, user science, and market competition is necessary to thrive in this position.

Expectations from the role:

  • Execution Product Ownership: Lead a medium-sized team independently. Set goals for the team and ensure alignment with business objectives. Drive results by balancing execution with quality. Resolve issues and unblock progress effectively.
  • Technical Skills Write clear specifications for complex problems. Use tools and methodologies such as product management, engineering, data analysis, and prototypes. Conduct expert-level analysis to validate hypotheses and derive actionable insights.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate and lead cross-functional meetings and collaboration with other squads. Proactively solve inter-team problems, ensuring seamless communication and workflow. Work with technical and non-technical partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Communication: Deliver clear and concise written and oral communication to both technical and business stakeholders. Create and deliver impactful presentations and product demos. Effectively write workflows for the product.
  • Strategic Thinking: Analyze complex problems and devise strategies to address them. Drive strategy by generating, evaluating, and prioritizing ideas in collaboration with key stakeholders. Continuously reassess and adapt strategies to align with market and user needs.
  • User Science & Empathy: Use data and analytics tools effectively pre- and post-launch to understand user needs. Conduct unbiased usability testing and in-depth user research, including interviews. Support and guide the testing process while representing user feedback.
  • Process & Organization: Develop knowledge of product management processes to improve team efficiency. Manage and mentor junior PMs, offering support where needed.

Qualification and Experience:

The minimum requirement for this role is a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science obtained from a reputable and accredited university. This foundational education ensures a solid understanding of core technical principles, including programming, algorithms, and systems design, which are crucial for excelling in the role of a Senior Product Manager. Graduates from reputable institutions bring exposure to cutting-edge technologies and problem-solving techniques that are often integral to building successful products. This academic background provides the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to address complex challenges, collaborate effectively with technical teams, and contribute meaningfully to cross-functional product development. Candidates who meet this educational requirement are expected to demonstrate strong analytical and technical abilities, as well as the capacity to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. While a BS in Computer Science is a minimum, advanced degrees or equivalent work experience are advantageous and highly regarded
